1. Do you plan to attend the reunion? Will you be bringing someone with you? Yes, I plan on attending, along with my wife Holly. 2. If you are planning to attend, how far will you be traveling to get there? Roughly 275 miles. 3. What have you been doing during the past ten years? I went to Iowa State in the fall after graduating from high school. I majored in electrical engineering. During my sophomore year at ISU, I met Holly, who is now my wife. In January of 1997 I took a semester off of college to take an internship position with IBM in Rochester, MN. About this same time, I taught myself how to play guitar. In May of 1999 I graduated from ISU and took a job with IBM. A few weeks later, on June 5, Holly and I were married in her hometown of Clear Lake, IA. From January 2001 until June 2003, I spent a lot of my free time playing guitar in a cover band called Vicinity in the Rochester area. Currently Holly and I are expecting our first child in April of 2004. That’s the past 10 years in a nutshell. 4. What do you do (how employed, student, stay-at-home parent, etc)? I am a Virtual Integration Engineer at IBM in Rochester, MN. 5. Are you single, married, divorced, or widowed? If married or widowed, spouse's name and length of marriage. Married on June 5, 1999. My wife’s name is Holly. 6. Do you have children? If so, names and ages. We are currently expecting our first child in April of 2004. 7. Any pets? If so, what and how many? We have one cat named Karl. 8. Where do you live? Rochester, MN 9. What did you do right after high school? I went to Iowa State. 10. What do you think has changed most about you since high school? I’m not as shy around members of the opposite sex. 11. When is your birthday? December 20, 1975 12. Did you further your education? If so, how? (2 or 4 yr degree, vocational, certifications, masters or doctorate, any special training, etc.) I got my BS in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University. 13. Have you been in the military? If so, how long? No. 14. Did you work while in high school? If so, where? Yes, I worked at Happy Joes! (If something happens to my job at IBM, I really want to open a Happy Joes in Rochester, MN.) 15. What other countries have you traveled to and why? I went to Canada while in 7th grade on a family vacation to visit my cousins in Toronto. 16. What are your hobbies and interests now? Golfing, fishing, gardening, playing racquetball, and playing guitar. 17. What was your favorite high school moment(s), class(es), teacher(s), sport(s), club(s), etc? Going to Hawaii with the marching band our junior year was by far my best high school memory. Along with that, Mr. Gaulrapp was my favorite teacher. CHS lost a great guy when he retired. My favorite class was probably Physics. Making a Rube Goldberg device to flush a toilet was priceless. 18. What do you think you'll be doing (or what do you hope you'll be doing) when our 15-year reunion rolls around? I hope to still be at IBM and have a couple kids by then. 19. Any messages you would like to send to your fellow classmates? Send me an email sometime: kahnevans@yahoo.com 20. Who are you are most interested in seeing at the 10-year reunion? Why?
